Man I couldn’t agree more, a splash screen is a design/UX smell. If not, there’s surely a tech solution to the problem. If you absolutely, positively, swear-to-god, tried everything, must download images/huge docs over shitty connections, then load defaults with your apk… or fix your backend. But wasting a few seconds of my time before allowing me to use the app is asking to be uninstalled. Splash screens are just symptoms of laziness, bad tech and/or bad UX wrapped in advertising.
